I went home for the weekend for my friend Lisa's little boys 1st Birthday party! It was so cute, decorated Dr. Seuss Theme, with real live goldfish in little jars around the house, and cute party streamers, great food, and yummy dessert. I can't believe this little boy is already 1 years old, he is such a cute boy and so excited about exploring new things. It was also great to see some other friends at the party!
I always love going home and visiting my family as well. When I first got there my dad asked me why one of my nails was painted gold when the rest were painted 1 color. My dad taught me how to paint my nails, I am sure he was thinking he never taught me to do that. What do you think, do you like the pop of color on the nails?
Also when I was home I took some pictures with my sister (posted above) and my mom took some as well that I will post later. I played video games with my 5-year old bro Landon, did a little shopping, and went to see The Help for the 2nd time with Hayley and Tanner. It was a fun trip, but it was great to come back to Chad on Sunday night.
Happy Halloween!!!

Girls Night Out!
Last night I had a fantastic night out to dinner with 12 girls from my ward! We really are lucky to have such a fun group! Our conversations consisted of only the most important topics: Nail Polish, Buying Jewelry from Ebay for super cheap, hairstyles, favorite make-up, colored jeans, stalking celebrities, planning XMAS party, over-priced rent, and most importantly, when our next night out will be! Whenever I get home from a girls night my husband always asks why I am talking so loud, I guess when you get 12 girls together you have to talk loud in order to be heard :)

Braids are my Fave
I love trying out new hairstyles. Most of the time I feel like I have 2 right hands (I'm a lefty), and I can't get it right. I end up trying over and over to get it and then rarely do I wear the new style out of the house. This braid was pretty simple, since it was an inside-out braid, not a french braid. I brought hair in to the braid from only one side (the side away from my face). It's a little funky but fun to wear for a night out with the girls.
What new styles have you tried out lately?

Pinterest Recreation
Another week has come and some more pinterest recreations. I seem to only do outfit recreations, my challenge to myself this next week is to make a crafty something from pinterest. If any of you have any great ideas please let me know.
I love the tomboy-relaxed look, its so effortless and easy. I owned all the pieces I used to put the look together and had never combined them this way. That is what I love about pinterest, I have become much more resourceful.

Mixing up the Routine
Yesterday I broke the work routine. I skipped out a little early to go to Disneyland! It felt so nice to be out mid-week, mid-day and enjoying some time with my husband, in-laws, nieces and nephew. I got to thinking about how we are creatures of habit and routine. This starts as soon as we are born, I've been told by my friends with babies that as long as those little ones are on their routine they are happy. Once their routine is broken...we all know what happens, the crying begins.
I like to think that I have grown up and out of needing a routine, but my life is still one big routine.
I work full-time Monday through Friday
I tutor after work two times a week
I have Mutual for church once a week
I go to the gym on the other 2 days
It leaves very little room in my life for spontaneity. We try and and go somewhere new and different on the weekend to fill that adventure void I long for during the week.
What do you do to break up the routine?

Halloween PARTAY!
This Saturday night we let our wild and crazy selves out for a fun Halloween party with a bunch of our friends. Thank you to the Pecks and Laynes for hosting the party, it was a blast! Everybody dressed up and went all out which made it so fun to see each couple arrive in full costume. We had Woody and Lil Bo Peep, SuperHeros, Cleopatras and Mark Anthony, Bieber and #1 Fan, Stick Man, the whole Scooby Doo Cast, Princess Bride and Westley, the Munsters and lastly Dog the Bounty Hunter and his wife Beth.
Some of the girls
The awards went to: Eric (Justin Bieber) for funniest, Chad (Dog the Bounty Hunter) for Best Overall, so proud, and Brady (stick-man) for Most Creative.
Most of the group, my self-timer skills could use some improvement.
The guys came up with an impromptu dance for all the girls, starring Justin Beiber
A special thanks to Catherine for getting this dance on video

Sock Bun
The Sock Bun
1. Cut the toes off of the sock and roll like a donut
2. Put hair in a ponytail and then put hair from said ponytail through the sock
3. Bring the sock close to the ends and wrap the ends around the sock.
4. Keep wrapping/rolling the hair until there is no more hair to roll.
5. The first time I did this it took me a few tries..don't get discouraged.
6. If you leave your hair like this all day/night when you take it out you will have nice big curls.
Check out McKenna's sock bun here.

Some Pinteresting Ideas
Pinterest has done it again, it inspires pretty much everything I do, that may be a little extreme, but I do feel like I am referring to pinterst qutie often. This week I re-created an outfit and made a Banana Cream Pie. The pie was To.Die.For. I dream about it at night it is that good.
First up is the pie. You can find it pinned here.
And here is my pie:
I've realized the pie pictures aren't that exciting, but trust me it tastes oh so good.
And second is the outfit pinsperation found here

And the recreation...
BTW notice the string going between the boots? I ordered these online and I ordered the WRONG color, I am going to exchanged them, but I still used them for the picture :) I am not a very experienced online shopper, this is the first pair of shoes I have ever bought online and I managed to mess it up. Oh well... live and learn right. I am linking up over here:

Hollywood Stay-Cation
I love the weekends. No work, no schedule, no computer. Chad and I have made it a goal of ours to venture out from the South Bay and explore the greater LA area. So often we stay here, play volleyball in Hermosa, go out to eat in Redondo, and walk around the same little shops in Manhattan. This weekend we went to Hollywood. We enjoyed the warm weather, the free entertainment that Hollywood Blvd offers, and a delicious dinner at the Oldest Italian Restaurant in Hollywood. The perfect stay-cation.
Pantages theater, I saw Les Mis here when I was in high school.

Always entertaining to see the cast of characters dressed up. I was being incognito because I didn't want to pay tips for taking pictures. They are very aggressive in asking for money.
Give it up for the King of Pop. This guy was so weird, definitely drugged up.
Who lives in a pineapple under the sea...
Marilyn and Cat Woman
Don't know this guys name, but he's from Harry Potter. And why is he looking so creepy behind his umbrella??I would love to stay at the Roosevelt Hotel someday!
The Chinese Theater
Forget about sightseeing this guy was/is so excited about his iphone.
Matching my hand print, not sure who's I am matching. This kind of grossed me out, all the hands and feet that have been in the imprints, but I still did it anyways. (I carried anti-bacterial in my purse).
Don't judge me because of the stars I took pics of...Hollywood & Highland Mall
Gosh, I love this guy!
I forgot to upload my pictures from Dinner, we ate at the cutest Italian Restaurant. The ambiance was amazing, old brick walls, live piano music, and dim lighting...so romantic.
After dinner we went to ComedySportz. I had gotten a Groupon a few months ago and we finally used it. We used to go to ComedySportz in Provo and loved it. I'll have to say that the one in Provo is my favorite, I love the Mormon Culture jokes that they always used. Still we had a great night!

Gold Striped Nails
My friend Erin had this cute idea pinned on pinterest here, and I loved the way it looked. Last night she came over and we did our nails together. This is pretty similar to the candy corn nails, just different colors. I found a WAY easier way to do it from Lauren Conrad's beauty website. Check out the instructions here. And before we began painting our nails we took care of them first. We massaged Olive Oil onto our cuticles and then combined the oil with Coarse Salt for an exfoliant and then moisturized our 10 digits :). Idea from here.

Doctor's Orders
I mentioned in my post yesterday that I had an eye infection. This seems to be a recurring theme in my life lately. My eyes burn with my contacts in, burn when I take them out, are light sensitive and really watery. My wonderful boss made me an appointment for this morning with her eye doctor. He was the cutest old man and really seemed to know what he was talking about, a great quality for an eye Doctor, (yes both cute and smart). He put some iodine in my eyes and said it looked like someone threw darts at my eyes, forgot the medical terminology. Apparently I am not changing my contacts every two weeks, I was trying to stretch them out so I wouldn't have to buy them as often and I could spend more money on nail polish, ha ha, not kidding. I've been wearing contacts for half my life, and glasses since I was 8. I thought I knew how to work the system and take care of my eyes. Guess I was wrong and now the doctor said I can't wear contacts for about a week. Really? A week? I hate wearing glasses, they never stay on my nose comfortably, they aren't as clear as contacts, I feel like I am the nerd from 4th grade again and the worst part...trying to wear sunglasses! For now this is what I will have to do while I spend my lunches outside enjoying the 85 degree weather here at the beach. Don't make fun ;)
I'm thinking about getting Laser Eye Surgery...
Any suggestions? Recommendations for the LA area?

Pinterest Recreation
It's no secret that I love Pinterest. I've posted about a few of my pinterest recreations here, here and here. I was excited that Cami over at All Things Lovely loves pinterest too. She does a weekly pinterest Link Up, for all to share their pinterest inspired creations. It can be anything from fashion to cooking, crafts... anything. I was inspired by this outfit creation from polyvore. I had to add the sunglasses because I woke up with a nasty eye infection that I didn't want to share with all of you. Believe me you don't want to see it, it's red, puffy, and has water running out of it that compares to Niagra Falls. Anyways, feel free to link up over here and join the fun.
