2012 In Review

What a big year 2012 was for us. It started out with finding out that I was pregnant (what? How did that happen), and pretty much the rest of the year was that, being pregnant.  It's weird to think that everything I did that year Cole was there with me doing it as well.

January: We went to the Bahamas for NYE

February: Told my boss I was pregnant, started working from home when I as too tired to get out of bed.

March: Went to New York with my boss and fell in love with that city.

April: We found out we were having a baby BOY!

May: We took our "babymoon" to Cabo and decided that is a trip we need to take EVERY year. I paddle boarded for my first time, 5 months pregnant!

June: Spent a lot of time at the beach, Chad went on a fishing trip to Alaska with his dad.

July: Chad turned 30, I turned 25, went to Bear Lake with my family.

August: Went on Maternity Leave, had 2 wonderful baby showers (here & here), celebrated 5 years of marriage.
 (Feet swollen everyday by 3)

September: The biggest miracle happened, Baby Cole came to our family, my life changed, and I don't think either Chad or I slept much this month.

October: We went to Utah to visit family and friends, and it was Cole's first road trip.

November: Cole was blessed, went to St. George for Thanksgiving

December: Cole's first Christmas

Can't wait to see what 2013 has in store for us!

Wilson Family Pictures

I mentioned in my last post that we took family pictures when we were home for Christmas (on Christmas Day actually). My mom is such a talented photographer, and was able to capture these pictures with only about 20 minutes of daylight to spare.  I sure do love all these people.

Christmas Time Is So Special

I look forward to December all year long. It is the one time o the year when we get to see so many family members, Chad gets to take some extra time off work, and we get to celebrate Christ's birth. This year was extra special since it was Cole's first Christmas. And even though he is far too young to realize what Christmas is all about, it was still so fun putting him in Xmas Jammies, taking his picture in front of the tree and wrapping his little presents.

The Friday and Saturday before Christmas we celebrated with Chad's parents since they were going to Utah to spend Christmas with his sister and her family.  We had Mexican food for dinner, sat by the fire and used Cole as our entertainment.  We stayed the night over there so it really felt like Christmas morning when we woke up. His parents made a delicious breakfast, I was able to sleep a little longer than normal, and then we opened presents. It was so fun to do that with them.

On Sunday we went out to my parents, and all 7 siblings were in town! It was great to have everyone together, and to make it more exciting my brother and his wife told us they are expecting their first baby in August. We couldn't be more excited for them, and for Cole to have a cousin only 11 months apart. The next few days were filled with trips to our local dairy for the best chocolate milk, Instagram overload (#wilsonxmas2012), passing around of Cole, cooking and baking in the kitchen, last minute shopping, performances by McKenna and Tanner (the only ones musically talented), staying up later than normal, singing Christmas songs acapello with my sisters, taking family pictures in 10 minutes because the sun was going down, and enjoying every minute of the time we had together.

Thanks to my mom she took most of the pictures since I forgot my camera and was left only to use my iPhone. Do I really have to wait for next Christmas to spend so much time with my family??

My camera threw up pictures

I haven't been very good at updating our blog about what we have been up to. While most days we spend at home in our pajamas or running to Target, we do shower, brush our hair and get out every now and again. Here are a bunch of pictures of what we have been up to:

Went to Palm Springs for our friend Kristi's Ironman:

Cole watching tv with Chad, and looking pretty cool I'll say.

We got our very 1st real Christmas tree. (It took us 2 weeks to actually decorate it)

Cole met Santa, wasn't too much of a fan.

Hanging out in our pjs (since this is real life)

Girls Night Out with girls from my ward. I just have to say how lucky I am to have so many friends, the ward we are in is really the best!

Went to my work Christmas party at Lucky Strike. Love my boss! I start working January 7th and she is letting me work from home.

Last weekend we went to the Grove in LA. They have fake snow, a great farmers market (yummy crepes) and awesome shopping. We put Cole in the Bjorn for the 1st time and he loved being able to look out at all the people.
It took even longer than this to get there, gotta love LA traffic.

TV and Treats, a great Monday morning

3 Months Old

This month has been my favorite so far. The first two months, those were really tough, and it still is hard but there are more rewards this month. Cole is all smiles, he is such a happy boy as long as it isn't nap time or time to eat.  He has no problem letting us know it.is.time. He also started laughing this past week, talk about melting my heart. I don't think I have ever loved any other sound more in my life. He plays a lot more and loves his play mat that lights up and has music. I lay him on that while I make dinner and I love to hear him talk and entertain himself. He loves to talk to his dad, when Chad comes home they tell each other about their day, this also melts my heart.

He is sleeping better than he did last month, still wakes up once or twice but he goes back down to sleep really well.  He slept 7 hours straight one night and I have never loved him more.  He loves kids, whenever we are around them he stares and sometimes lets out a shout at them just to make his presence known. I think he wants to get up and play already.

I love being this little guys mom, he really is so sweet and has a cute little personality. It is so fun now that he knows who I am and actually likes me and doesn't just look at me like his food source.
