Butterfingers

I got a new phone, the HTC EVO. I love it. The story of getting and selling my old phone is actually a funny one, I can laugh about it now.

I wanted a new phone. I decided to sell old phone. Husband put it on craigslist, and we received a bite. Buyer needed phone ASAP, so I went to the Sprint store, bought new phone so i could transfer all of my contacts. Then planned to meet up with the buyer and sell my old phone for the same price I was buying my new phone, genius? It was until I dropped my phone right infront of buyer and old phone got a crack on the screen. AHHH! Am i really that clumsy? I thought my sister Hayley was the clumsy one, turns out I am too. If I would have dropped that phone 20 min earlier it would have had insurance and been replaced, DRATS! Well to make this already long story not any longer, the buyer bought it for half the price, lucklily I already bought my new phone.

So here are a few photos I took today using an app I downloaded (smartphones are so fun).

Don't know why they are looking so blurry, oh well.
It was fun to go around taking pics on my lunch,
made me feel like a tourist in my own town

One last funny thing about smartphones, they try and act really smart, like choose the word that you are typing before you finish typing. I was texting my friend Catherine and I meant to say the word "thing" and after I sent the message I realized it said "thong". Haha, luckily it was Catherine and not my boss, or my dad, that would have been really akward!

Another New Obsession

Have you heard of Polyvore?? You haven't? Its ok I just found out about it. It is a website where you can put together your own style boards. Search any store, brand, style and create a cute outfit! Remember the shoes I just bought, well I wanted to see what they would look like with a few different outfits. I chose pieces that I currently have and some that I would love to have (the bag and necklage to.die.for), and I paired them with the shoes. These were my first style boards and I am sure not the last. Head on over to http://www.polyvore.com/ and try it out yourself, I'd love to see what you come up with.

Lunch Break

How many of you wonder what to do for lunch? Whether you stay at home with your kids and wonder what to feed them and yourself, or you are working and have an hour midday break from the office. I constantly am trying to come up with something to do for lunch, I have to leave the office otherwise I go stir crazy. Normally I do one of the following activities:

1. Sit on the beach and read a book
2. Make a lunch date with Chad or another friend
3. Walk to CVS and buy a new nailpolish and then paint nails
4. Get in the car and just drive until I see something worthwhile to stop for
5. Lastly, go to Target.

Today I chose to visit Target. I always think I will go and just "look". I am sure most of you know that you can't get away with just looking at Target, it's one my bucket list though. Today I walked out with a few good deals:
  • Scarf - $4.99
  • Heels - $12.98
  • Moroccan Oil - $5.99

All of these 3 items were totally necessary...just in case Chad asks, tell him that for me will ya?

Birthday Freebies

Whats better than a gift on your birthday?? A FREE gift! Last year Disneyland did a free entrance on your birthday promotion, this year I found out that Catalina Express offers a free roundtrip on your birthday. You can check the deal out here. There are so many deals out there for your birthday, many restaurants, retailers or services will offer a free meal, dessert, TRIP TO CATALINA, etc on your birthday. I got to wondering what other deals are out there. Check out this link and this link for some ideas. Celebrating birthdays are so much fun, and I am so excited to celebrate next week with so many free gifts!

Everything Tastes Better Dipped in Chocolate

Last week I had a night out with some girls in my ward to the Melting Pot. Something about THEIR chocolate that makes me feel SO happy and excited. We decided on the Yin-Yang Pot (white chocolate with dark chocolate) then dipped/dunked rice krispies, angel food cake, cheesecake, brownies, marshmallows, strawberries and bananas in the chocolate. There is nothing like getting a group of girls together around a pot of warm chocolate. If you haven't been please do yourself a favor and try it out. You will thank me later, I promise.

PS. Can you find me in the picture above? I "dipped" my hair in chocolate as well.

Oh to be 5 again...

I took this picture of my little brother who just turned 5! I can't believe he is already 5 years old, going into kindergarten this year. This was one of his many treasures that he collected at the beach on Saturday, this boy is a pack rat. He loves anything that one would label as trash.

I was thinking on Saturday when i was with him how easy life was at that age. You never had to decide what the plans of the day were, what you were going to eat, how you were going to get money to eat, make decisions on your future, you get the point. You just go with the flow. Unless you are tired and cranky then you get to cry and throw a tantrum until you get what you want, I wish i could still do this and it would be socially ok.

Life definately gets harder the older I have gotten. Not harder in a bad way but in a "harder" way. Transitioning from high school to college, single to married, college to real life big girl job, Utah to California, etc. But as I look at the changes I realize that each change prepared me for the next. Each one seems a little bit harder, but also comes with a little more enjoyment. Chad and I are in "transition" where we don't know where we want to settle down, when we will get our own place, have kids, find a job for Chad that he enjoys and find success, but I do know that each time I have experienced change it has always been for the better. I absolutely love this song from Wicked. I really feel that the experiences and people that I have met had helped me become a better person.

So while it would be nice to live in Neverland and not have to ever grow up, I know that there are great blessings and rewards to gain through life changes.

Get Shaved

Just found my new favorite summer treat, shaved ice. In Utah they have these on every corner, but in California I haven't been able to find a good shave ice. No need to worry anymore, I have found a supplier to get my fix :) I can truly welcome Summer now.

How We Celebrated the 4th of July

1. Get to the beach bright and early so you can reserve a volleyball court, this is a coveted item on the 4th of July.
2. Have really awesome friends to spend the day together and play volleyball on reserved court.
3.Cook up some burgers, eat watermelon and enjoy a patriotic cake, all on the sand.
4. Take a walk along the strand and people watch
5.Watch fireworks with friends
6. Go home, take a long shower and apply lots of Aloe Vera to that sunburn!

Totally caught in the act, love this picture!

They got the memo to wear stripes!

Vegas Part 2

In Vegas we also enjoyed great food (very important to a group of girls), and Brittney Spears Concert, also important.
Tada, we finished our first big meal!

Dinner #2

I only was able to take a few pictures at the concert before I got busted for having a "professional camera" ahem, excuse me I told the camera buster, I don't even know how to work this think except for in auto mode. Too bad, he still made me put it away.
